So, I hear the Socktravaganza fundraiser for Ezra Levant by Teh Steyn has been socktacular. I think there are several lessons to be learned from this event.

One is that we, the people, should not be afraid because freedom loving people (who also happen to have jobs and make money) have the backs of other freedom loving people.

But seriously folks, doncha love the intratubes? Ezra Levant, Canadian Zhooooo Extraordinnaire publishes Danish Mohammadoodles, gets investigated by Kanadian Kangaroo Kourts, and then posts his interrogation on the intertubes and BAM! Support and donations roll in from all over the world.

Steyn, from his Secret American Lair, with the enthusiastic help of fellow hatemongers all over the intertubes, gets a massive fundraising campaign going to help Ez fight the global jihad via its insidious lawfare tactic.

This says to me that there are many good people willing to fight, write cheques, write words and write songs to grind those bastards down. It makes me very proud to be affiliated, in my own small way, with this valiant struggle.

"Organic" Food is A Bunch of Expensive Hooey

Now confirmed.

"Organic" usually looks like crud and tastes well...almost the same as regular stuff to me.

I remember a friend once told me that she paid $16 for an "organic"watermelon (and this was about 10 years ago). It was spongey and disgusting, but her husband slurped it up, saying it was definitely worth it and delicious.

I think that "organic" is just another idiotic liberal way of making themselves feel less guilty about having too much damned time and money on their hands...much like buying "carbon credits" to save the planet, from the comforts of their leather couches.

There are few subjects that I find less interesting than the uniqueness of what people are putting into their bodies. I have found that the less meaningful people's lives are, the more the obsess about what they put into themselves, like 'oooh-no refined sugar for me'. Or 'oh-I only eat spelt pizza', or 'I am an ovo-lacto-organic-hemp cookie eater'.

To me, it's a way for these losers to feel special and unique but it is so boring and stupid-it's a conversation that only a useless loser would care to have.

This is a pretty important story that I haven't seen much of in the MSM (surprise!). I think we should be paying attention to any udpates on this story, because it's another vicious bullying lawfare/stealth jihad story.

These imams want to make people afraid of reporting LEGITIMATE security concerns about Muslim passengers.

Much is being written about the curious and tragic drownings of Muslim women in eastern Ontario. Something that Mark Steyn is calling statistically highly unlikely.

Scaramouche thinks there is something weird about the Kingston drownings-and so do I.

Here's what I found interesting, burried in the story in the National Post.

"Chief Liu said the family, originally from Pakistan, travelled from their home in Toronto to Gananoque on Friday. They had planned to go on a boat tour of the Thousands Islands on Saturday, but never made it."

"He said the girls were dressed for swimming in a manner that is "consistent with the Muslim tradition." That means the children were wearing long tights and T-shirts, but Chief Liu said the clothing would not have contributed to the drowning. He could not say if the mother was dressed to go swimming. "

I think it's very odd that the female members of this Pakistani family-who were all non-swimmers, went to the swimming pool dressed in 'tradtional Muslim clothes'-and if they had on scarves and extra clothes-you're telling me that that wouldn't have weighed them even further?

How on earth could this have happened? The wife tells the husband, hey-I'm taking the girls for a "swim" even though none of us can swim and there is no lifeguard at the pool?

That is SUICIDAL behaviour for non-swimmers, or perhaps HOMICIDAL behaviour for someone suggesting the swim.

This kind of reminds me of the phenomenon in Turkey, where girls are 'encouraged' to commit suicide because the family doesn't want the dad, brother or male cousin to rot in jail for doing the "honour" murders.

It's also kind of like Saudicide: suicide by a bullet to the back of the head.

It's a creepy story, and I suspect we will never find out the truth.

Blimey! Irish Courts Make Blasphemy Illegal!

No, I'm not kidding.

This is pretty freaky stuff, because if you're a seething, politically offensive hatemonger like me, you'd be suspicious that the 'updated' blasphemy laws are going to be used only against people who speak ill of Islam, rather than against Jesus or Christianity, or Judaism.

This article does not describe the ways in which the government will pursue blasphemous citizens, or even the extent to which blasphemy will be monintored.

It seems to me that this is a very ill-thought out law. If an Irish citizen puts a blasphemous comment on a web site hosted in Ireland, can they be charged? What if an anonymous poster plants a comment on an Irish owned web site? What if I go into an Irish pub and told the one about how Jesus stopped playing hockey because he kept getting nailed to the boards? Would I get charged? What if I just told the joke to an Irish person on the phone?

If this wasn't such a seriously deranged law for a western European country, I would think it was a joke. But it's not a joke, and Ireland should be considered Europe's most progressive country in adopting a law that is quite likely making Islamophiles the whole world over salivate with envy.

I used to think that France would be Europe's first Muslim country, but with this law-Ireland is really making me think otherwise. They are even catching up to the historically record high levels of British dhimmitude, too.

Neither has a job. Children having children, living off the state. Did these children not have any parenting themselves? This story is shocking and distressing on so many levels.

Visible minorities are especially vulnerable-says Professor Tania Das Gupta, chairman of York's department of equity studies.

Is it racist for a physician to want to make sure that a nurse understands verbally, or in writing, the drug that they have to administer? Or the tool that he or she might want during surgery?

I wonder what is considered "racist" by the study's author? A look? A slur? A bad joke? A comment about Michael Jackson that is less than idolatrous? A sucky rendition of a Kanye West song? I think we need some more information about this study and the methodology before condemning Ontario hospitals as the biggest cesspools of racism in Canada.

"Women planning to give birth at the hospital, which delivers 1,600 babies a year, are told no epidurals are available because of a lack of senior anaesthetists. They are needed because the procedure involves injecting a drug directly into the spine."

"The failure flouts guidance from four Royal Colleges, including the Royal College of Midwives and the Royal College of Obstetricians, that women should have access to an epidural within 30 minutes of requesting one. It adds to mounting concern about the quality of NHS maternity care, with midwives in some hospitals expected to attend to three women in labour at the same time due to staff shortages."

If anyone had denied me an epidural during childbirth, they would have had to live the rest of their sorry life minus an organ.

I think that this story raises two major points.

One is that clearly, the judgement of Mr. Bernie Farber is questionable. But if you go ahead and march in solidarity at Pride, and not only get the t-shirt but wear cute little Hawaiian style orange flowers on your wrist-just go with it and enjoy it. He was clearly representing his liberal allegiances and bridge-building commitments (however wrong-headed they are) rather than thinking through the entire scene in terms of the big picture. Liberals do not have any sense of humour, and therefore cannot follow where Teh Funny is in any of this. It's all about hurt feeeeeeeeelings and wounded PRIDE.

The second lesson is that we really cannot underestimate the challenge of the Gayhad to Western civilization. It is not that individual homosexual relationships can endanger society-it is that within the gay community there are is an unquestionably large contingent of Marxist, anti-Western, anti-democratic and certainly anti-semitic elements that are a danger to our way of life. And I say this as someone who really couldn't care less who you sleep with (consenting adults that is). I care about your thoughts and attitudes and political-not sexual positions.

The woman, Fatma Hassan Zeck, planned a two-pronged attack in Tel Aviv and Netanya. She planned to commit one bombing herself, while the other was to be carried out by her niece."

Here's the really interesting part: "Zeck, 41, is a mother to nine children and has one grandchild. She was pregnant with her ninth child when she attempted to carry out an attack on behalf of Islamic Jihad two years ago; the child was born in an Israeli prison several months after she was caught."

Palestinian baby-manufacturer starts breeding killers probably as a teenager, marinates them in death worship, gets pregnant for the ninth time, loops niece into a suicide bombing plot, is a grandmother at the ripe old age of 40, and has a baby in jail.

Such charming rituals, such a deserving society. Truly the picture of women's liberation.

Really Bad Advice From Ellie at The Toronto Star

Normally, my eyes just glaze over when I see advice columns in the newspaper, but for some reason, this column by advice columnist Ellie in the Toronto Star really got under my skin. It irritated me so much, that I thought I would post it here and see if anyone else has any thoughts on the matter.

The letter came from a person who is very distressed about the deterioration in his wife's appearance over time, to the point where he is disgusted by her. The writer doesn't say exactly what the "changes" are, but that people stare at his wife in public, and that he wants to be supportive, but that he can't imagine a future without physical intimacy.

Ellie's idiotic advice is basically that this guy is a selfish turkey, and that hey-it's not all about him! His wife is 'silently crying out for help', and that the best thing this cad could do is get her looking better so that she can leave him!

I wish I could write directly to this guy and say-hey buddy-Ellie's advice SUCKS completely.The way we present ourselves to the public is very important. The way we dress, and groom ourselves, the choices that we make about our appearance-these are not small matters. The reason this advice sucks so badly is that Ellie is acting as an enabler for the wife who appears to have let herself go completely. Instead of encouraging the husband to discuss the issue directly with his wife, and to have a frank and honest discussion about how her appearance is a turn-off, she dumps on the husband-who clearly does want to have an intimate relationship with wife, but is frankly disgusted by her appearance right now. He's not disgusted by her personality-but with the way she is presenting herself to the world, and to him.

There is no encouragement for personal responsibility, and for good grooming, exercise and fashionable clothes, hair and make-up. There is no bone thrown to the guy to let him know that hey-you're not the only man who has gone through this, and yes-your wife should care about what she looks like. This is a classic blame the man story-and I found it disgusting.

I've been pregnant, and then worked like a dog to lose the weight. I work and have kids and still find the time to work out and stay healthy-I do it for myself-it's my personal therapy and the spin-off effect is that I am a happier, healthier person for my whole family.

This column would certainly go down in my books as one of the crappiest advice posts that I've ever seen. It should not be taboo to say that physical appearance is critically important-that means doing the best, the very best, with what you've got and getting the best advice about being the best "you" that you can be.

I was quite elated when I heard the news that the reverse-racism case against white American firefighters was finally overturned. I quite enjoyed Ann Coulter's thoughts on the matter.

I can't tell you how many times I have witnessed white, 'enlightened liberals' making breathtakingly racist, and even idiotic statements about minorities under the guise of being progressive and 'feeling their pain'. It makes me completely nauseous. These people are the biggest racists ever. The only thing they see is the colour of people's skin-nothing else matters to them.

The big theme for these liberal racists is of course "justice for Aboriginals". I made the mistake one time of asking someone what their vocation (day care and labour activist) had to do with "native justice" . She looked at me like I was a complete moron, and said 'how can anyone rest in any field of work when there are land claims to be settled and Canada continues to perpetrate injustices against Native Peoples'.

I learned never to ask again how these people link subjects together in their brain because it doesn't matter-it doesn't make any sense.

There seems to be a little formula . It follows a bit of a pattern, usually.

Take trendy lefty subject x, and add some trendy lefty subject Y. Subtract any knowledge of history or politics, and then add a generous quantity of Marxist mumbo jumbo. Add a heaping scoop of nanny-state sympathies, and subtract any Judeo-Christian religious knowledge or sympathies. Add in a few anti-American platitudes, and some anti-Israel sympathies and lots of atheism and watered-down eugenic sympathies. Sprinkle in liberal quantities of rolling eyeballs and exasperated heavy sighs. Add in occasional shrieks of 'racist', 'homophobe' or Islamophobe and VOILA! Your argument is made. UPDATE: For the ladies, what's not to like about firefighters? This is just a gratuitious, heterosexist posting. Like it or lump it.
