He wanted to badly for all the popular kids at the UN to like him that he shoved his Jewish identity aside and went into full on Israel persecutor.
At the time, he was pretty much shunned by his friends, synagogue, etc..but he kept insisting that he did the right thing and stuff.
The Goldstone Report turned into a magnificent piece of anti-Israel propaganda and now, the sniveling Goldstone wishes for everyone to reconsider his work of crap.
This genie cannot be put back into the bottle.

Normally, I step gingerly over others' ethnic, racial, or religious internecine differences, but I shall make this observation regarding Mr. Goldstone--whom I believe to be an egregious example of Robert Frost's famous definition of a liberal as ". . . a man too broadminded to take his own side in a quarrel"--his views and attitudes are no longer as aberrant as they once were in the Jewish community. In fact, as long ago as the 2006 Hezbollah War, when I was working as a physical therapist in a retirement community whose residents were disproportionately Jewish, I often found myself in the uncomfortable position--as I am myself not Jewish--of arguing pro Israel against Jewish residents who, incredibly (at least, I found it so at the time), were arguing contra, along Goldstonian lines ("Hezbollah is bad, but Israel is sinking to their level by attacking Lebanon," etc.) My sense is that, if anything, this attitude has become even more common since 2006.
I only mention the above because the prospects of Israel's survival are not rosy if even a significant minority of American Jewry begins to think along those lines. As valiant as the young men and women of IDF are, Israel remains a precarious outpost of the West in the heart of jihadi territory; it must have the active support of the U. S. to survive, and the political underpinnings of that support are in the American Jewish community, which punches well above its weight in matters of public policy.
Douchebag? [that's an insult to douchebags] My cousin refers to Goldstone as a clown. [That is an insult to clowns]. I called him a kapo [yes, even they had consciences]. Maybe there aren't words to describe him and what he has done. [although you do refer to "our idiot people."]
