A Beheading Only The LA Times Could Love

Awww. Isn't that so sweet? The Los Angeles Times shows us that the beheading of Aasiya Zubair Hassan is actually a good thing, because it shines the light on the generic, can-happen-to-everyone-especially-white-people problem of domestic abuse. There is a shiny side to this story after all. So what if Aasiya is dead-the point is now we are really, like-totally, seriously gonna talk about womyn abuse. Did you notice the cut line on the photo? I did: Aasiya Zubair Hassan died Feb. 12. Her husband, Muzzammil Hassan, has been charged with second-degree murder. Together, they had built a Muslim TV station in New York. See? She just "died". Just like that. The layers of collusion in this story are reprehensible-police aware of domestic violence, friends who knew, imams who knew, and even the victim's own delusional forgiveness of her tormentor and ultimate murderer. Shame on every one of them.
