Ann Coulter: So Much for "Wise Latinas".

I was quite elated when I heard the news that the reverse-racism case against white American firefighters was finally overturned. I quite enjoyed Ann Coulter's thoughts on the matter.

I can't tell you how many times I have witnessed white, 'enlightened liberals' making breathtakingly racist, and even idiotic statements about minorities under the guise of being progressive and 'feeling their pain'. It makes me completely nauseous. These people are the biggest racists ever. The only thing they see is the colour of people's skin-nothing else matters to them.

The big theme for these liberal racists is of course "justice for Aboriginals". I made the mistake one time of asking someone what their vocation (day care and labour activist) had to do with "native justice" . She looked at me like I was a complete moron, and said 'how can anyone rest in any field of work when there are land claims to be settled and Canada continues to perpetrate injustices against Native Peoples'.

I learned never to ask again how these people link subjects together in their brain because it doesn't matter-it doesn't make any sense.

There seems to be a little formula . It follows a bit of a pattern, usually.

Take trendy lefty subject x, and add some trendy lefty subject Y. Subtract any knowledge of history or politics, and then add a generous quantity of Marxist mumbo jumbo. Add a heaping scoop of nanny-state sympathies, and subtract any Judeo-Christian religious knowledge or sympathies. Add in a few anti-American platitudes, and some anti-Israel sympathies and lots of atheism and watered-down eugenic sympathies. Sprinkle in liberal quantities of rolling eyeballs and exasperated heavy sighs. Add in occasional shrieks of 'racist', 'homophobe' or Islamophobe and VOILA! Your argument is made. UPDATE: For the ladies, what's not to like about firefighters? This is just a gratuitious, heterosexist posting. Like it or lump it.

C-in-C the word you're searching for is 'pathology'. Liberalism (which now means exactly the opposite of what it's supposed to) is a psychological condition, part narcissim, part rebellion against those who've failed to acknowledge the superior intellect and qualities of those who profess it. Add a dash of pure spite just to spice the formula up. It's not a political movement; it's a program designed to get even with a society which has no use for individuals who have christened themselves as 'intellectuals'.

That the proponents of 'liberalism' often share none of the traits of the true intellectual (logical thought process culminating in a decisive point or proposition, the careful sifting and weighing of facts, the ability to accomodate, and often accept, an opposing point of view) is beside the point. They feel themselves to be intellectually and morally superior to the rest of us, and God forbid (God is a cpnstruct!)you kill their buzz with reality, you Fascist! It's their right to be that self-delusional and smug.

These are people who hate society as it is currently ordered. It's unfair that they didn't get that pony for their 8th birthday. In high-school they were probably mercelessly teased by the jocks, motorheads and stoners (you know, the people who are often more socially- and professionally-successful later in life?), who's world they wanted to enter, but from which they were forever barred because they were 'weird'. It's a battle against the mores and conventions which their parents, who failed to recognize and nuture their superior sensitivity, tried to instill in them. It's why they dress in black and become faux vampires and Goths, get tats or body piercings in unspeakable places, become Rabid Feminists, or engage in endless, mindless exercises in symbolism and mock moral outrage. It's why they all screech about "the Other's oppression". In some ways, they feel oppressed by the fact they didn't get the proper encouragement their superior gifts of intellect and sentsitivity should have garnered them. They feel they can sympathise with The Other(that they can't often empathize with him is lost on them) as some form of transcendant, second-hand solidarity and validation. It's all about getting attention, in a negative way, by rebelling against the 'System' which robbed them of their right to be called 'superior'. And if what they advocate comes at that System's expense, it's golden. Since it's all for Shock Value, it doesn't really NEED to make sense! It only needs to offend and weaken the existing order.

I'll finish with a quote from Orwell's "The Lion and the Unicorn" (1940):

"It is a strange fact, but it is unquestionably true, that almost any English intellectual would feel more ashamed of standing to attention during 'God Save the King' than of stealing from a poor box."

That's the kind of people were up against here.Substitute 'American' or 'Canadian' for 'English'. Think about the implications of that sentence the next time you're confronted by a pushy, clueless liberal who rolls her eyes or punctuates his conversation with heavy, passive-aggressive sighing.

Cheers!
