Barbara Hall: Whose Side Are You On?

Black Jamaican performer banned from Caribanna for being anti-gay!

I'm making popcorn. Who will Barbara Hall vote for? Stay tuned!

"Last year, gay rights activist groups advocated for a nationwide ban on what they called "murder music" being recorded and performed by artists like Elephant Man. They alleged that songs promoting gay-bashing, such as Elephant Man's "Log On," have motivated brutal attacks by mobs on Jamaican gays. "

"In 2007, despite protest from human rights groups, Bryan was issued a visa to perform in Canada, prompting police officers from Toronto's hate crimes unit to monitor his songs for any utterance of anti-gay lyrics at his show at the Kool Haus. He was also monitored at shows in Winnipeg and Victoria."

Wow. Toronto is so progressive. We have CSI Caribanna: Humourless and Easily Offended Gay People Division.

Personally, I think the gays-yah-you heard me all you LGBTQ2Spirit-Friends of Dorthy-Pat people: YOU ARE RAAAAACIST.

The gay people think that the black singer's songs cause anti-gay pogroms!

The black dude should file a human rights complaint against the queers and explain why "Log On" is just a nuanced paean that they have confused with "Log In" or some such lyric.

But seriously-what will it take to make the thought police realize that there is a reducto ad absurdum situation going on? If you ban everyone and everything, this is what you get-black Jamaican singers against the queer lobby. Nobody wins. Everyone loses.
