Cultural Suicide Watch: UK Nuclear Family Edition

Great news. The British government has decided that marriage is a silly, useless relic of the past and that any kind of funky "partnership" is cool for kids.

How progressive!

"Labour plans to tackle family breakdown by promoting any stable relationship, not just marriage, Children's Secretary Ed Balls said today."

"Dr Katherine Rake, the head of the heavily state-financed organisation launched by Labour ten years ago, warned that the traditional family model is no longer 'the norm' and any Government attempts to rescue it are futile."

So, if the nuclear family is history, I predict we will see many more legally polygamous families and eventually, people making the argument that their dog or cat should be legally recognized as their partners and co-parents.
