Steyn Et Al Commenting on the "Lone Wolf" (Muslim) Attacker

Steyn and VDH and Jonah Goldberg have already put some great stuff out there on the reticence of American "security" officials and the entire Obama administration staff to really articulate the nature of the particularly Islamic, existential threat to the world.

The latest attempted bombing of Times Square in New York is proving to be no exception.

If there is a white Christian involved in terror, you can be sure that the supporting network is sophisticated, world-wide and very heavily financed.

The Muslim attacks are one-offs, never related to any particular ideology, never have a common denominator and are always giggly amateurish.

But, if the security forces reluctantly do arrest a suspect, we inevitably start to find out about his very lengthy (undocumented) history of depression! And mental illness! The lawyers start to chirp about how sad he always was, how he never fit in, how he was such a good boy always, but then came under the influence of a Very Bad Imam Dude from Some Far Away Place that he got in touch with over the intertoobies.

The family inevitably is Devastated!

This all points toward the insanity defense. They can't really admit that radical, genocidal Islam is insane can they?

Then, when the suspect is jailed, we hear the TOOOOORTURE claims: food not hallal, toilet points to Mecca, they spit on my Koran, they gave me bacon for breakfast, my guard is a chick, etc...

These are signs of our collective weakness and are exploited by our enemies.

They rightly view our "accommodation" as decadent our decadent and ultimately fatal weakness.

We better prove them wrong, or it's gonna get much, much worse, before it gets better.
