It's a very frightening number and it's getting worse, not better.
I always say, people will schlepp their shopping cart right back to the grocery store in the hail and rain to get their quarter back out of the cart. If Canadians even had to pay a modest user fee (like $5) for going to the doctor they would think twice about it. This is Canada, there is nobody that can't afford $5. If they say they can't, they are lying and probably spend at least that on a cup of coffee from Starbucks a couple times a week.
There are a lot of moderate alterations that can be made to our system, but it's a sacred cow. But even sacred cows must meet their grill. The current system is-as lefties like to say "unsustainable". Not that facts really matter to Lefty-but you can see where Ontario's system is headed: Greektown.

I think this happen with everyone that whenever we have to go to doctor for health care we think twice.
