I'm just wondering about this statement though. It smells like total dogsqueeze, does anyone know if it's true?

Yes . . . these virtual Moslem patriots no doubt occupy the same Neverland as all those Moslem scientists and mathematicians who were supposed to be at the forefront of civilization for centuries. Really, even the Soviet propaganda machine, at its most feverish, would have been embarrassed to make claims like this.
In the spirit of dubious historical claims, I will advance my own: Cubans won the American Revolution, because--and this is actually an empirically verifiable fact--Cuban militia units attached to the Spanish army helped to take Pensacola from the British in 1781, as part of the allied effort that permitted the Revolution to triumph.
