Germany is waking up. Canada is still in a morally decrepit zombie state of denial about it.
It is spelled out here beautifully:

If she follows through on her declaration, it would mark the beginning of the end of European multiculturalism, which increasingly would take a back seat to efforts to promote integration and assimilation."
