I found it rather naive, but it's also not the kind of thing that inspires much dialogue.
Mahmoud Abbas is not a man of peace, a pragmatist or any kind of democrat.
He can be dressed up in a suit, and Western countries can continue to prop up the myth, but in the end-those who refuse to understand that this conflict is religious in nature are bound to be "disappointed" time and time again by the uppity Israelis, and their even more uppity (democratically elected) leaders who refuse to just die already!
The conflict accurately dates back to Mohammad actually, not 1949 or 1949 or 1967.
It's not a real estate conflict at all. If it were, the Palestinians would have had a state long ago.
It's interesting that it's Netanyahu that is making it difficult for him to support Israel.
How easy it is to support a society and a leader that has shin-digs such as this?
This is the PA. This is jihad.
