One of the most fascinating aspects of the decline and fall of great empires and civilizations is just how quickly and thoroughly they decay, once they've passed the zenith of power, so that even a little demographic breeze can bring the whole rotten structure tumbling down.
Skeptics of the Eurabianization of Europe often point to the fact that, at least in the official census figures, Moslems still make up a small--though no longer neligible--percentage of the total population. The UK, for example, is, per the _CIA World Factbook_ only 2.7% Moslem (though that figure is probably an underestimate, as many illegal immigrants are not included in the counts). Well, that may be, but historians of the fall of the Western Roman Empire generally put their estimates of the barbarian tribal populations that invaded and brought down the Empire at about 5% or less of the total Romano-Celtic population _in situ_. As Mark Steyn likes to point out, the total numbers in play demographically are not what counts, what counts is the number of fighting-age males on each side _that is actually willing to fight for their side_. Based on historical precedent, the tipping point in the UK is not that far away demographically, given the "fighting spirit" (or lack thereof) of the aboriginal population (or of its leadership).
