A Challenge To Yale University

Michael Rubin raises some great points in this piece for Commentary.

Among them: "Anyway, against the backdrop of the university’s decision to shut down the Institute and replace it with a program limited to the study of anti-Semitism against dead Jews rather than their living counterparts...."

This is an excellent point-and goes hand-in-hand with the "dead Jews=very sad", living Jews "not so much" that I have written about in the past.

Holocaust memorials-oooooh sad. Get a photo of that guy putting a wreath down at Yad Vashem, listening to memorial poetry etc..

Live Jews? And fighting Jews??? YUCKY!!!!

Bad Jews-curl up and die again!!!

Uppity Jews!

Go into oceans, ovens, whatever!!!

The problem is that raising the issue of present-day anti-Semitism immediately suggests the question, "What are you going to do about it?" Since _doing_ something about it--as opposed to shedding cheap tears for the long-dead victims of a long-dead Third Reich--would require action, conflict, and violence (as well as confronting certain realities about a certain "religion of peace"), I seriously doubt that we shall see any calls to action from university faculty lounges or the editorial boardrooms of major newspapers.
