Kaye Hymowitz's social commentary pieces--I especially love the stuff she writes for the Manhattan Institutes's _City Journal_--are real jewels of what I term commonsensical scholarship. She has done a yeoman's job of refuting the feminist narrative that the traditional family is a tool of "patriarchal oppression" of women.
