There are cults of Palestinianism as identified by Bat Ye'or and this author suggests a religion of the Peace Process.
But, basically, he missed the entire point of the conflict.
There is no "Israeli-Arab" conflict, just as there is no "Israeli-Palestinian" conflict (or "Israel-Palestine" conflict as the Jew-haters are more prone to label it).
There is only an Islam-Infidel problem for Islam. The problems that the Muslims have with Israel are that it exists-and that the uppity Jews just will not go back to being dhimmis. We've been there and done that-it sucked and now we can say 'screw you'.
That really bothers them.
As I often note-the Middle East conflict is not a real estate problem, but that's how lefties want you to frame it.
It is 100% religious in its origins, and because of that, there is no 'solution' to the problem, short of a reformation in Islam so dramatic that it would change the nature of how Islam and Muslims understand themselves and their relationship with other faiths. And frankly, I don't see that happening.
Therefore, the best situations that we can hope for-and encourage other people to support are 1) containment and 2) separation. What I mean is containing existing security threats by all means necessary and 2) keeping Palestinians and Israelis lives as separate as possible unless good relations (economic, security) are mutually possible and beneficial in any given geographical area of Israel.
The 'peace process' is a religion for many-but it really boils down to being a very acceptable form of Jew-hatred in a post-Holocaust world.
