A Holocaust Rant

Here is a rant by a very smart Jew who goes by the name of Buzzsawmonkey whilst online.You can find him and other fun people and smart conversation at Correspondence Committee.

"I am fucking tired of all the people who are dying to misappropriate the Holocaust.

The Holocaust---that is to say, the intentional effort to wipe out the Jews of Europe, for which express purpose the death camps (as distinguished from the slave camps) were built---was aimed at the Jews. Yes, it ground up the Gypsies, too, but the death camps were built as "the final solution to the Jewish problem." Not the Polish problem; not the homosexual problem; not the political dissident problem. The Jewish problem.

I do not wish to in any way minimize the brutality inflicted on, or the suffering of, the many millions of non-Jews who died at the hands of the Nazis in the slave camps, along with, of course, many Jews. I merely wish to point out that the death camps, as distinct from the slave camps, were built and run because the Jews, merely because they were Jews, were not considered fit to even be worked to death under starvation conditions; they had to die, and die quickly in large numbers, to slake the maw of the Nazi ideology.

The Nazis were able to do this because "the world" was willing to acquiesce in the Nazis' separation of "the Jews" from the rest of humanity. And now, some sixty years after the bodies were buried, the entire fucking world wants to be "part of the Holocaust," and more than half a century too late re-admit the Jews to "all humanity"---not so that they can recognize that the Jews were killed in numbers larger than all the other victims of the Nazis combined, nor that they were killed in greater proportion to their overall numbers than anyone else, but so that the fact that the Jews were intentionally and specifically cut out from the human family for the purpose of being targeted can be obscured by declaring the Jews, long after the fact, part of "all humanity."

Fuck you, "all humanity." Fuck your Holocaust denial-by-inclusion. The Jews' distinction as specific targets of the Nazis is different in kind, even if not, in many cases, in nature of suffering, from that foisted on the rest of the Nazis' victims. And, frankly, we would have preferred that it not be. But you made it possible then, by acquiescing to it in its early stages, and by not stopping the Nazi war machine before it got going. And you enable the Nazis' successors today under the banner of Islam.

So bite me."
