The West Is Screwed

This really makes me sick. As if neurotic Westerners don't spend enough time and money on their animals, now, the crazy PETA people have managed to 'raise consciousness' sufficiently in the West to enable people to take "peternity" leaves. Animals and all pets should be treated kindly, but not like humans. I like service animals, too. But bad things happen when people think animals are humans. I will share with you that one of my supervisors had a dog that died of old age. She was so broken up about it that she took a week off work. Yes, I'm serious. She sat shiva for her dog. Welcome to my life.
