You Knew This Was Coming: Beheading Just A Generic Form of Domestic Violence
Could have happened to anybody in any community, any religious group, anywhere. Sure, great. I'm actually just suprised it took so long to roll out this PR initiative. American Muslims call for an end to "domestic violence". I'm not sure whether to laugh or cry. I think I'll do both.

Unfortunately... I have have both friends and family who were victims of domestic violence.
In both cases, abuse of alchohol was involved. In one case - both victim and victimizer abused alchohol.
The crimes were horrifying - but both my friend and my cousin are still alive, with heads intact and a society, family, and government that supports and protects them against further abuse.
However.... beheading and honour killings have nothing to do with bland north american style domestic violence.
The main difference being; in north america the families of the victims of domestic violence abhor the violence and try to protect the victim by trying to remove them from the dangerous situation
In Islamic culture, even the Islamic micro-societies inside north america, the victim of the violence is most often betrayed by their families and lured to their fate by willing co-conspirators.
Maybe... just maybe... this is a true call to end such culturally and religiously sanctioned violence.
The wording is strong, calling "the murder of Aasiya Zubair" the "most vial and barbaric example of its kind."
No.... it's not, really.

According to one Iranian Ayotollah: if you have shagged a sheep you can't kill it for the purposes of eating it afterwards.
However, having shagged your wife, you have every right to behead her, for whatever reason you see fit.
It's a sick society and culture which crafts rules which all but defend the life of an abused animal (and which also serve to tacitly excuse the disgusting practice of beastiality -- allegedly), but not the life of an abused wife.
