Two things:
1) Mayor Bloomberg and the NY City Council are incapable of providing leadership on ANY ISSUE whatsoever. None of them could lead a three-year-old to the Crapper, so I expect no voice of outrage from our local, elected non-entities.
2) The phrase "Islamic Cultural Center" is an oxymoron. Muslims have no culture, being little more than amoeba with legs and a fetish for murder. You cannot have much of a culture when your people believe their greatest hope in life is to be a spectacular murder/suicide, you wrap women in burlap sacks, and the only notable invention you've had in the last 500 years is the explosive belt.
