Ohio Muslims Arrested On Terrorism Charges

Local Muslims "frustrated".

Pigs Fly? Associated Press Notices Home Grown Terrorists

Searching for the "common denominator" though...anything? Anything at all? There has just got to be something tying these folks together. Such a "broad strata" of Americans...it's very odd.

Do you spot anything that might be a common thread?

Nothing to See Here.

Soldiers dismissed, laptops confiscated-but there is no story here.

Please hit your 9/11 snooze button again-thanks.

"He Wants to Go To Paradise"

The New York Times reluctantly discusses and discovers home grown jihad.

It is an expose of sorts, and does point a finger in the general direction of Islamic radicalism. However, it is difficult to get beyond the elite's stubborn insistence that this is an isolated lone wolf - again.

If he were a white, Christian alleged murderer, you can be sure he would be part of a massive, well-funded, organized conspiracy.

Muslim Groups Still MIA on Terror

"A reluctance to even acknowledge pro-terrorist sympathies persists even beyond official Muslim groups. At universities, for example, Muslim students have blocked speeches by people like Nonie Darwish -- an anti-terror activist who calls herself a "former Muslim" and who speaks about the Islamic links to terror. In the last two months, scheduled Darwish talks at Princeton and Columbia were canceled at the last minute, after Muslim objections. At Boston University, someone lit a fire in a building where she was to speak."

"Darwish says she and other former Muslims regularly face death threats. And though she's asked American Muslim groups to sign a pledge opposing fatwas that condemn former Muslims to death, "not one organization" has done so."

A Step in the Right Direction or More Dhimmi Paperwork?

So, it appears-at least on the surface that somebody in the United States army realizes that they had a major SNAFU with regards to Dr. "Jihad is in keeping with his research interests" Hassan.

A committee has been meeting, with donuts and everything and they have come up with some new guidelines.

It's hard to imagine how they missed the fifty bazillion red flags this guy-or rather the GREEN flag (you know the one) on him if not for willful blindness and the stranglehold of political correctness.

One thing I do see in this report is a bit of sensitive deference to political correctness-imagine that...the new regulations and procedures will not only protect people from jihad-but protect American Muslims in the army from suspicion.

Do you feel better now?

Everyone Go Back To Sleep

There is no problem with home grown terrorism in America.

How On Earth Did This Slip By the LA Times Editors?

Whoops! It seems like the LA Times has noticed homegrown terrorism!

Amazingly, they have included this anti-Marxist analysis, a small but important observation that "socioeconomic success will not necessarily prevent Americans' radicalization".

Moreover, they quote an unnamed European intelligence agent as saying that"the profile in Europe is in general quite different [from U.S. extremists]: more working-class or even underclass,"

"But it's a bit simplistic to make assumptions. We have seen everything in Europe -- educated people, doctors involved in terrorism. The underclass argument is not enough."

The article then describes President Obama's efforts at dealing with Islamic radicalism:

"The Obama administration began the year with gestures to the Muslim world. President Obama promised to shut down the prison at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and made a historic speech in Cairo. The Homeland Security Department leads the administration's counter-radicalization effort. The Office of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, which works with Muslim leaders, held summit meetings with Somali communities this year in Minnesota and Ohio, said David Heyman, assistant Homeland Security secretary for policy."

Yes, grovelling speeches, shutting down incarceration facilities for terrorists and meetings! Glorious meetings! That will definitely show those nasty terrorists we mean business!

More gloriously naive talk: "We don't do enough about fostering a counter-narrative," said Matthew Levitt, a former anti-terrorism official for the Treasury Department now with the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.

"Competing for space with the radicalizers and challenging their radical ideologies is the key."

I disagree.

I think having better weapons, superior firepower and a willingness to use them is key. The humiliation of the radicals is key as is materially and philosophically and militarily supporting any moves towards freedom, liberty and democracy in the Muslim world. That means supporting the Iranian students, women's rights (actual rights, not the liberal's "right to wear a body bag"), and supporting and providing unfettered Internet access in totalitarian regimes.

Great News: More Than 200 Islamic Fanatic Web Sites Available to English Language Fans

"Increasing numbers of English-language Web sites are spreading al-Qaida's message to Muslims in the West. They translate writings and sermons once largely out of reach of English readers and often feature charismatic clerics like Anwar al-Awlaki, who exchanged dozens of e-mails with the Army psychiatrist accused of the Fort Hood shootings."

"The U.S.-born al-Awlaki has been an inspiration to several militants arrested in the United States and Canada in recent years, with his Web-based sermons often turning up on their computers."

Heartache: Iranian Funded School Might Find it Hard to Lease a New Space

Nasty kufars!

Good thing Ibrahim Hooper is on the case. This is clearly racist and Islamophobic.
