Actual Good News

I posted about this story some time ago.

I am glad that they are going to be able to stay.

And if you really want a taste of what lefties think of disabled people, read some of the comments.

These pontificating commenters don't give a rat's ass about our tax dollars going to support Tamil terrorists here in Canada, or Somali shebabniks, and they sure don't mind the Palestinian and Nazi war criminals living in our midst.

The fact that both parents have been paying taxes here also never occurs to them.

How about the Indian Air Terrorist? I wonder if they were moved to criticize his presence in Canada?

Lefty really hates the disabled, the unborn, the infirm and the elderly as well.

They wanted immigrant status anyway, not refugee status.

Two Years Worth Every Tear

The world of parenting a special needs child is an interesting place.

You are a parent, a therapist, a coach, a spiritual guide and nurse all in one.

You find yourself dividing the world into groups-as we humans often do-people who 'get' the vulnerability of the disabled, and people who don't.

Not surprisingly, I find the most support for the value and dignity of disabled lives on the right of the political and religious spectrum.

I believe that many, if not most leftists loathe disabled people and would be happy if they were all aborted before birth.

I try to keep plodding along, one step at a time with my special needs child. Some days are harder than others.

We all have our moments.

Here is a nice article celebrating the life of a disabled child-and seeing every day as a victory.

The Left's Unbearable Darkness of Being

Please take some time to read this.

I find that the joy and true humour are absolutely, and almost without exception, on the right side of the political spectrum nowadays.

When I get together for lunch with my crew of local members of the ZOG and the VRWC, we laugh almost until our sides split.

We talk about books (remember, conservatives actually buy and read books), politics and the laughs are non-spot.

People who are conservatives have an appreciation for life, an appreciation of individual dignities and liberties and generally, a sense of joy that is completely absent on the left.

Most of the lefty women I know are morose. Most of the lefty men I know are squishy metrosexuals who have manicured nails and drive powder blue cars.

They seem not to laugh as much, they seem more disdainful of the disabled, they laugh at religious belief (unless it's Islamic-that is revered and "quaint") and thing Americans are dummies.

This piece puts into words what I think many of us on the right have experience first-hand in our dealings with leftists/statists/socialist-Marxists.

The mark of a good essay in my opinion in finding myself unable to put it down-whether I agree or disagree with the content. It should have a flow and leave me with something that I will always remember.

Thank you Robin, the "recovering" liberal for penning this inspiring and life-affirming piece.

Creeps Deface Pictures of Down Syndrome Kids

Obviously, there are some disgusting excuses for human beings who thought it was absolutely hilarious to deface pictures of retarded children.

I hope they all rot.

Here are a few thoughts on the matter from the mother of a child with Down Syndrome, from a Catholic perspective.

Her comments are easily translatable to other syndromes and other special needs-her words are my thoughts, too.

"This attack was also painful because of the callous lack of understanding of what these photos stand for. Accomplishments in this particular world are hard won. They represent hours of sleepless nights rocking babies who struggle to breathe during bouts of pneumonia and other respiratory infections. They represent long hospital stays, emergency room visits, and anxious hours spent in surgery waiting rooms. They represent days, months, and years of physical, occupational and speech therapy, conferences with school officials, and the effort to make others understand these children’s unique gifts."

" Even the simplest everyday activities can be a real triumph for children and parents. The amount of love, suffering, pain, and prayers that go into the moments captured in the posters is probably more than many people go through in a lifetime. These children overcome circumstances and adversities that would overwhelm most adults."

"But after seeing the online ridicule of Down Syndrome children, I wonder whether the deepest sorrow that pierced Mary’s heart was not the physical suffering of her son, but the cruel taunts and mockery to which he was subjected. It must have been bewildering to her that his tormentors could not see that all the life and goodness, truth and beauty in her Son."

Of course our children are not messiahs. But a Holy Cross Priest at Notre Dame reminded us last week that those of us who care for individuals with cognitive handicaps stand on holy ground. Knowing a child with Down Syndrome is like getting a small glimpse of the divine; original sin has been cleansed by baptism, and their souls are barely touched by actual sin. And that’s why we feel that when they are shown disrespect, something innocent and holy and sacred has been profaned."

This is a beautiful article-and I completely agree with the writer.

Kathleen Parker: Hey Sarah Palin, Your Trig Schtick is Getting Old

It's funny that Ms. Parker is all about Trig's rights to privacy and stuff.

Because frankly, most lefties would just prefer to abort abnormal babies-and not bother with all this 'unchartered waters when a politician has a retard child business'.

That's really the problem isn't it? It drives Lefty bananas that she is pro-life, that she thought about an abortion and then decided against it-that she loves her "damaged", "retard" child like all her other children and is keeping an eye out for other disabled Americans.

Making a case then, for Trig's privacy is pretty rich. Lefty just doesn't know how to continue the usual assault against damaged and disabled people without appearing to directly be making fun of Palin's perfectly innocent and adorable child.

I kind of like to see Lefty squirming about this. What about you?
