The NY Times is trying to make a case for the poor, maligned Muslims of America who have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with terrorism.
Not even 9/11!

Anyway, in this revolting piece, the Times tries to make the case for the Muslims, but ends up comparing Muslims to AIDS victims.

Islam is Rightly Emboldened
Have you heard of Beth Galinsky?
I just did. If Beth was a dude, I would be inclined to say that he had a pair of the biggest stones in America today. Beth is a feisty Jewish chick from New York, who was unmoved by the dhimmiest demonstration in America-a stone’s throw away from Ground Zero. Beth is not inclined to take up the “I’m A Muslim” mantle. She says:

Europe, I believe is lost.
It’s frankly very hard for me to muster any sympathy for Europe. They abandoned and slaughtered their Jews, and then imported Muslims. The elites made a conscious choice to commit demographic hari-kari. And even more insidious was the way in which the Holocaust guilt-ridden Europeans quickly turned on Israel, turning Jews into Nazis in newspapers, policy forums, in the arts and even in local and national politics. Eager to rid themselves of the now non-fashionable anti-Semitic label, they poured their scorn on Israel-the New Jew, and simultaneously funded Palestinian terror and supported Islamic and leftist Judenhaas with their money, minds, religious institutions and political clout. I have no sympathy for Europe, just disgust. Jews need to get out of Europe and live (even if it means as penniless refugees once again) either in Israel, Canada, America or Australia. In my view, these are the only places in the world where Jews ought to even consider living. And where Jews go, so does civilization. Cultures that have been inhospitable to their Jews have pretty much gone down the civilization toilet. We Jews and our non-Jewish friends and allies, need to fight tooth and nail against the jihad. If you don’t want to live in the caliphate, you better damned well do something about it with whatever tools you have at your disposal. Publish, fight, learn their language, visit Israel, promote Judeo-Christian values, make jokes about them, make movies or songs, raise children who are confident in their Judeo-Christian heritage,understand what is at stake and are willing to fight for it. We cannot sit idle while the caliphate and its evil henchmen laugh at our emasculated, frightened selves and leaders. Cowardice kills.

It's actually disgusting to be on most university campuses and sample what passes for "scholarship" nowadays.
The public education system and the higher education system has to be reclaimed by sense and sensibility.
Down with baloney "studies" and up with actual scholarship. Down with tenure and political correctness.

Amazingly, the Chronicle of Higher Education features an article that tries to explain "Why Mideast Tumult Caught Scholars By Surprise".
I'll tell you why.
Because the academy is full of pinheaded loser douchebags who never seek external (read: real life) validation of their idiotic theoretic socialist garbage fantasies because they are too busy celebrating diversity, sucking each other off and complaining about BOOOOOOOOOOSH.
Who uses the word 'tumult' anyway in describing revolutions? Quaint pinheads.

I don't agree with everything Bruckner proposes in his article, but I certainly think it is food for thought.
He is a very smart man, and certainly not afraid to say unpopular things.
I actually do believe that happiness is an individual choice. Lots of bad things happen in the world, but we always have choices. Even while acknowledging how hard things can be, we are still lucky to be alive, living in these times and to have this life.
A couple of weeks ago, I heard of the suicide of a parent of a special needs child, whose son has the same syndrome as mine.
This fellow was a physician, and had worked with his wife tirelessly after their son was born to raise money for other families with special needs kids to provide respite care, equipment, assistance with camp fees and many other quiet, modest but loving initiatives.
It turned out that he had actually been suffering from clinical depression for a very long time, struggling with the dark demons in his brain.
I believe depression is real and in the brain, and that there are medications that can help people with chemical problems in their brain-I'm not referring to neurotic, self-obsessed navel gazing 'depression-lite' when people spend all their pathetic lives 'in therapy'.
I wish more ostensibly 'sane' people chose happiness, despite their challenges.
